Hi, welcome to newsletter #6.

Stop scrolling and lets begin.

What's inside :

  • 6 things I wish we could adopt from "western culture"

  • Jargon of the day

  • Habit of the week

  • Goal of the month

Time and again we bash "western culture" for it food, lifestyle and values, but I believe we can cheery pick a few good things from our Caucasian members of the species.

Focus on Sports.

We are still to catchup not just in number of medals we score in international sports tournaments but also the general importance of sports as a priority in schools and as a career option.

Focus on Science

As much as we love our traditions, we must not let them come in the way of our progress in field of medical science, diet, nutrition and lifestyle.

Focus on Individual

Indians value the family over the individual. Which also means many individuals don't get enough encouragement to pursue their passions if they don't align with family values.

Focus on Self

We are trained to work till we die, mostly as a survival mechanism rather than a real need for it. If we could normalize taking a break then it can work wonders on your mind and body.

Focus on Developing Confidence

We are more defensive than open to suggestion. It mainly stems from our superficial understanding of our traditions. We can be less sensitive if understand our traditions better which can give us more confidence.

Focus on Positive Sum Game life

We are still a nation playing zero sum status games. We still believe that for us to will someone has to lose and that will give us revenge and glory.

However if we focus on avoiding status games and playing a positive sum game of life like creating more jobs, living a frugal yet fulfilling life then we can have more peace of mod on a daily basis

I would like to hear from you. Reply with a topic you’d like me to cover.

Cheers,

Dr. Vishal.
